Two Sparrowhawks in a Lonely Sky

“Two Sparrowhawks in a Lonely Sky” is a book for 11 to 14 year olds, written by the brilliant Rebecca Lim and published in August 2023 by Allen & Unwin.

I had the pleasure of illustrating and designing the cover, as well as doing a number of character illustrations for the front of the book - an exciting challenge to illustrate in a style completely different to my own.

It was a privilege to work on this book, with its beautiful and important story, which follows Fu and Pei’s journey from rural China to Australia during Mao Zedong’s Great Leap Forward campaign.
